Overhead service work
The overhead service line between the power pole and your roof or facia is network-boundary equipment. Standard electricians cannot legally replace or re-tension it, the work belongs to a Level 2 accredited service provider working under class 2C accreditation.

Timing
When it's needed
A service line showing exposed conductor, clearance problems over a driveway or pool, a rotten private pole, or a renovation that moves the roofline all trigger overhead service work. Network businesses also issue defect notices against non-compliant overhead services, which carry a rectification deadline.
Never touch fallen service lines, exposed conductors or damaged network equipment. Keep people clear and report life-threatening electrical hazards to the network operator or emergency services immediately.
