Disconnect & reconnect
Trades cannot work on or near energised network equipment. Class 2A covers physically disconnecting a premises from the network and reconnecting it afterwards: the enabling step for demolitions, re-cladding, switchboard replacements and major structural work near the service.

Timing
When it's needed
Demolition approvals commonly require evidence of supply abolishment. Switchboard replacement needs a controlled outage. Roofing, solar and cladding work near an overhead service may also need isolation for safe clearance. Each pathway has network notification requirements.
Never touch fallen service lines, exposed conductors or damaged network equipment. Keep people clear and report life-threatening electrical hazards to the network operator or emergency services immediately.
